SignTime November 2024 newsletter: The AI Revolution Coming to e-Signatures and Electronic Contracting
Hello from the SignTime team and welcome to the next issue of our regular newsletter!
In the last year or so, it has been impossible to avoid the avalanche of media coverage around the world, reporting on the development of artificial intelligence (AI). While there are a number of types of AI in the market, some of which have been around since at least the 1990s, the ability of Large Language Models (LLMs) to provide interactive services to the mass market came like a seismic shift with the launch of the browser interface provided by ChatGPT.

SignTime is always focused on what technology can do for business, and so we have been experimenting with different LLM based AI solutions since 2023. We also know that with many of the companies in SignTime’s corner of the technology world, AI has been making its presence felt in the way e-signature and electronic contracting platforms operate.
AI Features Coming in January 2025!
Early in 2025, SignTime will be making some significant announcements in the area of AI, and we thought it would be a good time to sketch out some of the recent developments with AI in the e-signature market and outline some of the areas AI will be appearing in the SignTime platform. At a high level, we’ll be introducing a host of AI features that will assist clients with:
- Metadata management – this will help clients automatically generate and save contract metadata to be compliant with 電子帳簿保存法 (denshi chobo hozon ho, or the Electronic Bookkeeping Preservation Act).
- Reporting – allowing clients to aggregate reporting of all contracts in a customer’s storage service.
- Auto-generation of short summaries, indexes and synopsis – this will be an excellent tool for providing summary data across huge numbers of contracts.
- Context Actions – this cool feature will allow an AI ‘assistant’ to search for any contract terms or conditions that have similarities in their storage area across their entire business.
We’ve included a video sample (Japanese at this time) of some of our planned AI integrated functionality at SignTime. It’s very fluid at the moment (ie not finalized) and we would love to hear more about what might be helpful to your business.
This is just a small snapshot of what we have planned for the SignTime platform, with even more revolutionary benefits to come in 2025, so stay tuned!
Application Updates (October – December 2024):
- It’s not so catchy, but the “bulk actions” feature is the result of multiple received requests to do things like “download/save multiple files” or “tag a bunch of files with the same tag. More on this in detail soon!
- Many of you are familiar with the “alert” or “reminder” function that went live in early October, but consistent with the technology, we are reminding you again.
- While our initial internal approval (or internal approver) feature went live quite a while ago, we are extending it to allow for multiple approvers. It will be available regardless of whether you’re using the product through the web or via the API. That will (hopefully) be available from the end of November.
We would love more feedback, as it drives our development path. As always, if you want to speak further about how we can help your business on its digital transformation journey or have a discussion about AI and how it will improve your e-signature and electronic contracting management, book a time or send us an email.
That’s all for this edition and if you or your team have any questions, get in touch!
Best regards,
Jim
